Oklahoma Traffic Safety Requirements
Oklahoma offers a Defensive Driving Course program under 47 O.S. §6-206 that allows eligible drivers to have a traffic violation dismissed. The course must be approved by the court and can be completed once every 24 months.
Oklahoma uses a point system where accumulating 10 or more points within 5 years results in license suspension. The DPS administers the system.
For court-ordered traffic safety education beyond the defensive driving dismissal, Oklahoma judges have discretion to set requirements as part of sentencing.
