Kentucky Traffic Safety Requirements
Kentucky offers a State Traffic School (STS) program under KRS §186.574 that allows eligible drivers to keep a traffic violation off their record. Drivers may attend STS once every 12 months for eligible violations.
Kentucky uses a point system where accumulating 12 or more points within 2 years results in license suspension. The STS program does not reduce points but can prevent a conviction from being recorded.
For court-ordered traffic safety education beyond STS, Kentucky judges have discretion to set requirements as part of sentencing.
