Delaware offers a Defensive Driving Course (DDC) program that allows eligible drivers to have 3 points removed from their driving record. Under 21 Del. C. §4177D, the DDC can be completed once every 12 months.
Delaware uses a point system where accumulating 14 or more points within 24 months triggers a mandatory hearing. The DMV may require a driver improvement program or suspension.
Delaware courts may also order traffic safety education as a condition of probation for traffic offenses, particularly for reckless driving and aggressive driving charges.
